1788 4 路冗余智能現場總線接線盒提供了簡單的冗余容錯方法，以便將現場設備連接到 Profibus-PA 或基金會現場總線 (H1) 網絡。通過連續(xù)監(jiān)視支線電流以及在檢測到故障時斷開故障支線來保護網段其他部分，該單元為四個現場設備支線端口提供網段保護。對冗余配置的干線監(jiān)視可以使有關電纜故障的干線消息得到重新路由。
